July 27, 2019 Topsoil delivered to Park
John Cappiali delivers 2 truckloads of donated composted topsoil to cover the de-rooted pollinator garden plot. The plot is scheduled for planting in late August and September with plants purchased with the Keep Virginia Beautiful grant. Come out for the Park Workday scheduled for August 24 to start planting and enjoy the native plant garden started last fall! **************************************** |

Rappahannock County Park will receive $1000 from Keep Virginia Beautiful's 30 in 30 Green Grant program to purchase plants for the pollinator garden plot cleared of invasives this spring, Money will be spent on plants which bloom throughout the spring, summer, and early fall and which will provide food sources for native insects, butterflies, bats, birds, and other wildlife. Over 60 adults and children showed up on Saturday, June 8, 2019 for our First Annual Rush River Conservation Day. The weather was perfect and the fish were biting. Activities included Fly Tying, Pole and Fly Fishing Instruction, Stream Monitoring and Water Quality Testing, and of course fishing!

Frisbee Golf Installed ...try it out! June 5, 2019: New Frisbee Golf course was installed this week and is ready for use. The 3-hole course is located toward the back of the park and can be played in reverse to make a 6-hole game. |
